Obama & Biden during Gun Control Press Conference
Wednesday January 16th, 2013 President Obama put forward his solution to gun crime in America. Obama made his announcements through Executive Order.

A couple of Obama’ executive decrees were as follows:
1.        “Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system”.
2.       Propose rule making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
I think that if Obama wanted that to be the case, then Congress should say that if you want a background check for the 2nd Amendment, then we require that the national database be used not only for guns, but also before a person can carry out their civic duty, or checks on there legal status. I would also go as far to say that a valid picture ID (no picture, no vote) must be used when registering to vote and when in a polling booth.
Why should a law abiding citizen have to be subjected to a background check and a national database for guns, but not other serious areas of law enforcement.
If the GOP decides to attach the use of background checks on a national database for legal status to his executive decree(s); then essentially Obama and his ACLU, SEIU & NAACP will never allow for that to happen and therefore the bill will not pass.
Obama can’t have it both ways. You can’t be for profiling and discriminating against law-abiding gun holders - but at the same time, be against any form of law enforcement when it comes to checking ones legal status.
