At the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston; Barack Obama gave a speech which essentially propelled him to becoming national icon.
From his keynote address, he waxed lyrical about a utopian society in America:
"It's what allows us to pursue our individual dreams, yet still come together as a single American family: "E pluribus unum," out of many, one.Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes.Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America; there's the United States of America. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America. The pundits, like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue States: red states for Republicans, blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states. We coach little league in the blue states and, yes, we've got some gay friends in the red states. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq, and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq.We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America. In the end, that's what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism, or do we participate in a politics of hope?"Just think about that last sentence for a moment:
Do we participate in a politics of cynicism, or do we participate in a politics of hope?
Can you honestly say that the Obama presidency has been a one of hope? It is plainly obvious that the President is more in favour of personal destruction, than solutions. Wherever he can, he attacks his opponent. How can he espouse hope but at the same time denigrate Mitt Romney by labelling him a tax avoiding - murderer?
When one of the biggest results occurred for Obama in killing Osama Bin Laden; he still got that all wrong.
When Bin Laden was killed on May 2011; it was a unifying moment for America. The world rejoiced at the final comeuppance for the mastermind of the 9/11 atrocities.
Obama then took that unifying moment and completely politicised it with this advert.
He basically implied that if Mitt Romney was in office, he wouldn't have given the order to kill.
That advert, which was a totally misrepresentation of the truth and came from the play-book of 'spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes'.
It is now alleged that if it weren't for Hillary Clinton, the Bin Laden raid might never had happened. It is reported that Obama vetoed three missions because he was worried about the consequences of failure. Clinton, eventually persuaded Obama to give the green light to the mission. So essentially that advert is bogus and another 'amateurish' mistake from the President.
If Obama were a product to be sold in a store, he would've been recalled and everyone given a full refund. The same will happen in 77 days time.
