6-11-2008

I was looking through my computer files the other day and came across a piece that I wrote the day after Obama was elected. 6th November 2008 was the date of this. Some of it sounds rather prophetic if you don't mind me saying.
Enjoy!

So that’s it Election 2008 is over. It has taken 22 months but this long and turbulent road has finally ended. Barack Hussein Obama was chosen by over 51% of the American electorate to lead the country for the next 4 years. The first black American president in history will take to the White House in January 2009.

The polls were mainly accurate and it turned out to be a comfortable win for Obama. We could go into the demographics and go state by state but the answer was simple in the end, Enthusiasm. When I say that, I don’t mean for Obama (even though he helped) I mean for Democrats. When you are fighting 2 wars and have an economy in freefall, spending out of control and a detested president, it is not complicated to understand why the Democrats after 8 years are back in the White House. The G.O.P got whooped big time. All this talk about Obama’s inexperience counted for nothing when the perception of the incumbent party was at an all time low. You have to understand that the majority of Americans are sick and tired of Bush, Cheney and the G.O.P lawmakers.

I will look back at this election in many ways and one of them is the “Obama Effect”. I had many a discussion with my family about race being a factor, but I didn’t feel as much as they did that it would matter. I thought the opposite. The Americans were almost forced into voting for Obama. In both the primaries and the presidential election Obama dropped the race card to devastating effect.

Nevertheless, it was always Obama’s election to lose and he never really looked like losing it. He ran a flawless campaign but was aided big time. Sean Hannity strongly felt that this election signalled the death of the mainstream media. I couldn’t agree more. The screening was for only one side. It was disgraceful what happened and I believe something needs to be done, otherwise brilliant people will choose not to serve because the media will destroy them.

I wish not to take anything away from Obama, but you and I know that it was the most “manufactured historic achievement” in history. Never before has a candidate said so much and accomplished so little, but command a “bi-partisan” perception. I think to the days of Rev. Wright, Father Plaegar, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Rashid Khalidi and Louis Farrakhan. To his bitter comments about Pennsylvanians and his comments that American troops are air raiding villages in Afghanistan, his wife saying that America is a downright mean country. Despite all of the above, the media (apart from Fox News) stayed silent.

Obama will have 2 years to enjoy the majority that he has put together and don’t think for a second that he will run from his extreme liberal base. Everyone says if I ran the world I would do the following….. Well guess what? Obama is in charge of the world for at least 4 years. He will ram through whatever he believes needs to be done based on his beliefs; if his views on Iraq are anything to go by then it could be a very bumpy ride. America will go far to the left for at least 2 years maybe even 4, could be 8. It will be a difficult time for all moderates and conservatives.

What I am looking forward to seeing, is a Democratic controlled Congress, and a liberal Democrat president presides of the economy during these times. You will say that the last Democratic President, Bill Clinton did a great job with the economy!! However, that is in large part a tribute to Newt Gingrich and his team who took a hold on spending and taxes and made Clinton think twice before issuing any increase in taxes. Now that the Democrat’s control America we will finally see the real Democrats in action and it will be devastating for all concerned.

I myself am angry at the Democrats who used the last 8 years to destroy a president and almost ruin the war in Iraq, all for the sake of political points. Their time will come!

You may be asking then what of the Republicans? My answer is simple.
John McCain said in this election that Republicans came to Washington to change government, but government changed them. That is their answer to this election result. They don’t need to rebrand, revolutionize or change ideology. They need to become the party of the people, for the people, by the people. I sincerely believe that if McCain ran the same campaign as he did in 08’ against Gore or even Clinton then he would have won. It was a Democrat year. They need to be fiscally responsible, keep spending under control, strong on national defence and equally effective when it comes to education and Healthcare. Until they go back to basics it will be the same old problem. Fortunately, they have people to do that not many, but a few. The next four years will be bedlam; everyone will try to position themselves in the G.O.P to be their knight in shining armour. For people who think that Mike Huckabee is the answer, well, they are way wrong.
The individuals who I would wish to lead the party, are as follows; Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney & Rudy Giuliani. All 3 of them are leaders with sound core beliefs with a proven track record of reform, controlled spending and charisma. If McCain has done one thing, then that is bringing Palin into the forefront of the American electorate. She is Ronald Reagan in a skirt! She can take this country by storm if she becomes the torch bearer for true Conservative values and principles. If she, Romney and Giuliani can work together and usher in a new wave of true conservatism then the G.O.P will be back. They also need to take the advice of Newt Gingrich who will turn out to be the patriarch of the G.O.P.

I strongly believe that Obama will not turn out to be the “change” candidate that everyone expects. He has the potential of destroying all the promise that he has restored in the American voter during this election cycle. His presidency could move the country into a depression, if he fails to deliver something that is meaningful. For example, if he pulls out of Iraq and then there is mass genocide there, what will he do? He promised that 95% of Americans will get a tax cut what happens if does raise taxes? Terrorism, what will do about potential terror threats? How will he react when he finally realises that Ahmadinejad can’t be wowed as easily as Bill O’Reilly?

There is no doubt that Obama was handed this election and although the blacks and Democrats will say that is ridiculous, they know I am spot on.

On November 6th I was depressed and it will probably take a few drinks and few days for me to get this out of my system. However, I am not too concerned because I know that the Republicans are in safe hands long term. Sarah Palin is the future, don’t doubt that.

During the next 4 years, don’t ever let the media or Democrats fool you into accepting anything!

• If you believed the media & Democrats then we would have lost in Iraq.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then the surge failed.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then Sarah Palin violated 5 laws in the state of Alaska.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then Gore would have been president.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then McCain’s primary campaign was dead.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then the America is a “centre- left" country.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then Kerry would have been president.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then the Soviet Union would still be around.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then Saddam Hussein would still be in power.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then George W Bush would be tried for war crimes.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then Ronald Reagan was a failed president.
• If you believed the media & Democrats then millions of Iraqis would not have had the opportunity to vote.

ON THIS DAY, IN THESE TIMES OF UNCERTAINTY; DON’T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN’T DO SOMETHING. YOU DON’T HAVE TO ACCEPT THE STATUS QUO. DO NOT YIELD, STAND UP! BE STRONG, REMEMBER THE STORY OF MCCAIN IN HANOI AND THE SURGE IN IRAQ, DO NOT GIVE UP. FIGHT FOR LIBERTY, FIGHT FOR JUSTICE, FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN. FIGHT FOR GOOD, DESTROY EVIL, REACH FOR THE STARS; AND MOST IMPORTANTLY………………………

FIGHT TO BRING BACK TRUE CONSERVATISM
